Big B then graciously obliged to meet the main protagonist of the film Harsh Mayar. And he was greatly impressed since it was a culmination of Harsh personal journey that runs parallel and reflects his character in the film Chottu/Kalam.
Harsh, an underprivileged kid himself from a redevelopment cluster society in Delhi represents millions who aspire and hold Dr. Kalam as their role model. The normally talkative Harsh was just left speechless when Big B presented him with his biography ‘ To Be or not to Be –Amitabh Bachchan.
Later that night, Amitabh Bachchan blogged about his meeting with Harsh. “In office meeting up with that small little power house Harsh, the star of the film “I am Kalam” produced by the Smile Foundation that works tirelessly for the underprivileged, providing them with opportunities and hope for a better future .. to excel and achieve ..Harsh a confident alert and most vocal little fellow .. has won the National Award this year as the best child artist and now has travelled in to Mumbai from Delhi to meet me and then go back.. simply admire these qualities of amateurs finding their way into the industry and so savvy with all the necessary and required equipment for film.”
Meanwhile, Harsh is still reeling under the effect of meeting Big B. “I am living a dream. I never dreamt of meeting the biggest icon of the industry. “I am Kalam” has fulfilled all my dreams and the dreams of all underprivileged children to get an education.” Despite meeting the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Harsh is still hoping to meet Salman Khan soon.
