'Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos' teaser: Aamir Khan unveils spy comedy as Vir Das makes directorial debut; Find out release date

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's production house has announced a quirky new spy comedy film by the title 'Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos'. The movie which stars comedian-turned-filmmaker Vir Das which also marks his directorial debut. Along with the teaser, the makers also shared the film's release details.

The announcement clip, released on Wednesday, features the iconic duo in a comedic exchange that perfectly sets the tone for the "hatke" spy film.

Aamir Khan hilariously grills Vir Das over the action scenes

In the video, the "Mr Perfectionist" is seen humorously scolding Vir about the type of film he has made. "This is a film? You said it's an action film, spy film, thriller, action. Where is the action?" asks Aamir. To which Vir replies, "Sir, there is action, there is beating in the film." Aamir, unimpressed, responds, "The whole film in which you are getting beaten up, that is action? Yes." He jokingly tells Vir that he "should have just done stand-up comedy" instead.

The comedic roast doesn't stop at action. When Aamir asks about the romance angle, Vir says, "there is a whole love track." Aamir quips back, "The one where you get slapped when you meet her, that is romance? That is romance?" He also shares a laugh with fans when revealing that he had wanted an item number, only for Vir to end up being the "item girl" of the film.

Vir Das throws Laal Singh jab on Aamir Khan

The banter goes on when Aamir calls that the film is bound to "Flop" where Vir responds, "Sir, everyone has a flop. Your Laal Singh…" This playful fight continues until the film's team walks in to shower praise on the project, leaving Aamir visibly excited and completely changing his stance. "I told him to make a great film. Not a normal film, but a great one. What a great film this is," he declares.

Cast of the film

After the video a short teaser of the film is being played where Mona Singh in a different avatar can be seen. The teaser also shows Vir Das and interestingly, Imraan Khan and Aamir Khan in the end with long hair which gives a 90s vibe. The uncle nephew duo seems to be making a cameo in the film going back to the 'Delhi Belly' days.

The film is set to hit theaters on January 16, 2026.
