Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja make for one of the quintessential Bollywood couples and their love story is nothing less than a modern-day fairytale with lots of fun, friendship, laughter, and romance thrown in. As Anand Ahuja turns a year older today, we are taking a walk down memory lane and reminiscing about how the Bollywood princess met her Mr Right.

In 2015, while Sonam Kapoorâs friend was trying to set her up with Anand Ahujaâs best friend during the film promotions of âPrem Ratan Dhan Payoâ, she ended up going out with someone else, where she met Anand for the first time with other friends. They met and sparks flew instantly. Later Anand sent her a friend request on Facebook, asking her if she was single. Reportedly, only after a month of talking and finally meeting each other, it was Anand who popped the question to Sonam.

It wasn't until the success party of the Akshay Kumar-starrer âRustomâ, when Sonam and Anand were spotted together for the first time. It only took a few minutes for fans to connect the dots. However, the two denied commenting on the speculations. Later Sonamâs sister shared a family picture, which also included Anand and the relationship became official on social media.

The two kept teasing fans with their sweet comments on each otherâs social media posts. The two also took a trip together to London and welcomed 2018 in Paris. Needless to say, their pictures went viral with the hashtag #Everydayphenomenal.

As reports of their wedding started making rounds, the Kapoors released an official statement that read, âThe Kapoor and Ahuja families take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on May 8 in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family's need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love as we celebrate this special moment in our livesâ.

Sonam and Anand's wedding was one of the biggest events of B-Town. The fairytale ceremonies were attended by the A-listers of Bollywood.

The couple didnât go for a honeymoon right after their wedding but instead took a trip to Japan as their ''honeymoon/ anniversary/ birthday trip all rolled into one''.

The couple has settled down in their fancy apartment in London but keeps visiting India from time to time.
