Hansal Mehta slams Academy as 'Nepotistic' after Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan receive invitation to turn members and vote at the Oscars

celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan and costume designer Neeta Lulla among others, recently received an invitation from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). According to PTI, those who accept the invitation will get voting rights at the 93rd Academy Awards, scheduled for April 25, 2021. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta slammed the Academy’s decision and called it ‘Nepotisitc’ on a social media post.

A total of 819 artistes and executives have received invitations. Other prominent Indian names included in the list are casting director Nandini Shrikent, documentary filmmakers Nishtha Jain and Amit Madheshiya, visual effects supervisors Vishal Anand and Sandeep Kamal.
