Green signal for Gulaal

KK Menon (TOI Photo)Anurag Kashyap is floating on cloud nine these days. His Gulaal will finally see the light of the day.
A project close to his heart, Gulaal was shelved five years ago. Apparently, because of some internal film-fraternity crisis. Jhamu Sugandh���s films like Johnny Gaddar, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and Gulaal were shelved indefinitely. The films were then picked up by Aamir Khan Productions, and later couple of them made it to the theatres, whereas Jaane Tu...is all set for a release.
However, Anurag Kashyap���s Gulaal still remained on the docks. But recently, a film company recognised the potential of the film and they have now taken it over.
Kashyap says, ���Gulaal is very dear to me and I���m very happy that it will finally be completed. The film is based on Guru Dutt���s song, Yeh Mehlon, Yeh Taajon, Yeh Takhto Ki, Yeh Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaaye Toh Kya Hai... I���ll be starting the shoot next month and will finish it by the year end.��� The film stars Kay Kay Menon, Jesse Randhawa, Aditya Shrivastav from Black Friday and Deepak Dobriyal.
