Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja, who is known for her outspoken and candid talks, recently opened up about her unconventional relationship with her husband. Given her bold personality, Sunita shared amusing details about their bond during an interview with Hauterrfly. She was joined by their daughter, Tina Ahuja, for the candid conversation.
When asked about her equation with Govinda, Sunita revealed that their relationship doesn't fit the typical husband-wife mold. She said, “Aaj tak bhi nhi lagta ki hum husband-wife hai. (Even today, I don't feel that we're man and wife)." She added that she casually addresses Govinda as 'abeey,' and he responds in the same way. “Galiya galoch chalti hai humari. (We use abusive language with each other),” she humorously admitted.
Their playful and candid relationship often makes Sunita question whether Govinda is truly her husband. “Mujhey aaj tak vishwaas nhi hora tu mera pati hai. (I still can't believe you're my husband.),” she joked.
In an earlier appearance on the Time Out with Ankit podcast, Sunita shared an anecdote about adapting to her husband’s family’s preferences. She recalled transitioning from miniskirts to sarees because Govinda felt his mother would be more comfortable seeing her in traditional attire.
“Meri maa ko nahin jamega...Maine bola theek hai saree pehen lete hain ki farak padega. By hook or by crook patana to tha (He would tell me that my mother won't like it. I was like, okay, I will wear saree, and it won't make any difference. I wanted to woo him at any cost),” she reminisced.

On December 21, Govinda celebrated his 61st birthday and was seen distributing sweets to his fans gathered outside his house and even interacted with them.

Meanwhile, in October, Govinda was rushed to a Mumbai hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the leg. The incident reportedly took place early in the morning, between 4:45 and 5:00 AM, while the actor was preparing to travel to Kolkata. At the time, he was alone in his residence.

After being discharged, Govinda addressed the media about the mishap, explaining, “I was getting ready to leave for a show in Kolkata. It was around 4:45-5:00 AM when the revolver fell and misfired. I felt a jhatka (shock) and then noticed… there was a fountain (of blood).”
