Goa makes me do the things I don’t get to do in Mumbai, says Sonnalli
Sonnalli Seygall recently soaked in the laid-back charm of Goa with her daughter Shukar, spending time at their property in Assagao, North Goa. From wholesome breakfasts and beachside sandcastles to fully embracing the Goan way of life, the getaway was all about slowing down and cherishing motherhood. In a candid chat with Goa Times, Sonnalli opens up about life as a new mum, her love for Goa and more.
Motherhood is the most beautiful yet exhausting journey
Sonnalli says becoming a mother has been the most transformative experience of her life. “Motherhood is the best feeling, but it’s also incredibly exhausting. Your life completely changes as a mother, and honestly, mothers don’t get enough gratitude, from families and sometimes even from their own children,” shares the actress.
Getting back to work slowly
Meanwhile, she is gradually looking at returning to work. “My film Aryabhatt Ka Zero, which I shot earlier, will release soon. I wasn’t ready to return to work until recently, and I didn’t feel any pressure. But now, I’ve started meeting people,” she says, signalling a thoughtful and steady return to the screen.‘Food experience in Goa is by far the best in the country’
The Pyaar Ka Panchnama actress says Goa helps her slow down. “Goa makes me do the things I don’t get to do in Mumbai, visit beaches, explore nature, soak in the sun, and enjoy local food,” she says. She has also enrolled her daughter in a music school in Goa, where music is taught in an engaging way. Sharing her recent experience, she adds, “This time, I discovered local joints as well as fine-dining restaurants. The food experience in Goa is by far the best in the country. The quality, variety, and flavours are unmatched. I also love shopping here. Every visit leads to discovering beautiful stores and buying things I actually use.” Recalling her fondest memory, she says, “I first came to Goa in Class 11 for a teen pageant with my mother. Coming from Kolkata, it felt like Disneyland. I won the pageant, made lifelong friends.”Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
