Ghulam Ali to perform in Kerala

It has been a year of controversies. Among the many that took place in 2015, one featured the Ghazal maestro, Ghulam Ali. The artist was supposed to perform in Mumbai in October.
His concert, however, got cancelled after some fierce opposition by the Shiv Sena. Its members vowed not to let any Pakistani artist perform in India until the situation at the border settled.

Later on, there were possibilities of him performing in Delhi after the Delhi government extended support. But that too didn’t materialize due to an atmosphere of conflict in India. Hurt by the turn of events, Ali himself said he wouldn’t perform in India until the situation becomes favorable.
But now, Swaralaya, an organization in Kerala, has taken the responsibility of organizing a couple of Ali’s concerts in the state on January 15 and 17 next year, reports The Hindu. Even the maestro himself has agreed for it.
The organizers are quite confident that the concerts won’t face obstacles in Kerala. The venues for both concerts are yet to be decided.
