She’s lost a lot of weight, is looking good and is currently in the news because of her trip to Toronto. So, why did Sameera Reddy not tell us that she was off to Toronto before she actually took off? “Because I did not want to sound like a wannabe starlet,” says the sassy gal.“I am not saying that those who do talk about their international trips are wannabes, it’s just that I am not those kinds,” she adds. Point taken!
But guess who Sam met during her trip? George Clooney, Shakira and loads of other international celebs. “I had not gone there with any such expectations, and I guess that is why this trip turned out to be great. As for George, he’s quite a charmer. I was speechless when I saw him. He speaks really well. And Shakira is a shy person. But she loves India,” says Sam.
The lady also admits that she was quite the cynosure of all eyes that evening in Toronto. “Actually, I caught their attention because of my saree. Everyone wanted to meet me. It was a great feeling,” she says. On the work front, Sam has her priorities very straight. “The past one year has changed a lot of things for me. Mira Nair’s movie and supporting the cause of AIDS has given me a focus in life. I’m not doing movies that merely flaunt big banners, but those that make me happy.”
There’s one more get-it-straight thing that Sam tells us, “I will remain single till the day I get married.” Okay. But is this single status really a single one, or the secretly committed and telling everybody you’re single kind? “This is the no comments kind of single!” quips Sameera with a straight face.
