The Kapoor family came together on May 3 to bid farewell to their beloved matriarch, Nirmal Kapoor, who passed away at 90. The funeral, held at Mumbai’s Pawan Hans Crematorium, saw the attendance of close family members, including Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, and more. Janhvi Kapoor, visibly emotional, stood by her grandmother for the last time, supported by her boyfriend, Shikhar Pahariya, who attended despite a hand injury.



Nirmal Kapoor's Health Struggles and Final Moments
Nirmal Kapoor, who had been struggling with age-related health issues, had been admitted multiple times to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. She passed away on May 2 at 5:25 pm, as confirmed by Dr. Santosh Shetty, CEO of the hospital. Nirmal was the wife of veteran Bollywood producer Surinder Kapoor and is survived by her four children—Boney, Anil, Sanjay, and Reena Marwah—as well as numerous grandchildren, many of whom are well-known figures in the Hindi film industry.

Prayer Meet Scheduled for May 5
After the funeral, the Kapoor family announced that a prayer meet for Nirmal Kapoor will be held on May 5, 2025, at JW Marriott in Juhu, Mumbai, from 5 to 6 PM. The details were shared by Boney Kapoor through a heartfelt post on his social media account.
