' is one of the highly anticipated movies of the year. Directed by
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film is about one of the most powerful and respected madam of
Kamathipura
brothel during the 1960s. As soon as she shared the posters, fans, as well as B-town celebs dropped love on the post and praised the actress.
Now, Alia's father
Mahesh Bhatt took to his Twitter profile to shower praise on the
first look
. He wrote, ''I admire people who choose to shine even after all the storms they have been through.'' Apart from Mahesh, Shraddha Kapoor,
Deepika Padukone, Dia Mirza,
Soni Razdan, Ananya Panday,
Ranveer Singh Aditi Rao Hydari and many others praised Alia's first look.

Talking about Alia's character, she will be essaying the role of a madam of Kamathipura brothel during the 1960s. Forced into prostitution into an early age, Gangubai became influential in the city, with notorious criminals serving as her clients.
It is based on a chapter in Husain Zaidi's novel 'Mafia Queens Of Mumbai'. This will be Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next film after 'Padmaavat' which starred Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
The film hit the big screen on 11th September 2020.
