From Ranveer Singh’s ‘Cirkus’ to Rajkummar Rao-Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Badhaai Do’: New Bollywood films announced in October 2020

After six long months, it looks like Bollywood is finally back on track with people resuming shooting of their stalled films. While films like Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Bell Bottom’ and Salman Khan starrer ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ have called it a wrap, others like Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Jersey’ is in the last schedule of their shoot.

Well, this is not all. This month also saw as much as five new upcoming film announcements in Bollywood. From Rohit Shetty’s ‘Cirkus’ starring Ranveer Singh to Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Badhaai Do’ to Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor starrer ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’, here’s a rundown of films that you can look forward to.

‘Cirkus’

After their successful collaboration in ‘Simmba’, Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh are all set to team up for the second time for their upcoming film, ‘Cirkus’. The film is reportedly based on William Shakespeare’s play, ‘The Comedy of Errors’.

Ranveer Singh will reportedly be seen playing a double role in the movie alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde. The film, which will be shot around Mumbai, Ooty, and Goa, is slated for a Diwali 2021 release.

‘Badhaai Do’

On the second anniversary of Junglee Pictures’ ‘Badhaai Ho’, the makers of the movie announced the second instalment of the movie titled, ‘Badhaai Do’. The film will not be a sequel to the Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra starrer.

‘Badhaai Do’ will star Rajkummar Rao as a cop and Bhumi Pednekar as a teacher in the movie. It will be directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni and is likely to start production in 2021.

‘Unfair & Lovely’

Randeep Hooda and Ileana D’Cruz are all set to share screen space for the first time in Balwinder Singh Janjua’s directorial debut, ‘Fair & Lovely’. Balwinder is known for his screenplay of the award-winning film, ‘Saand Ki Aankh’

Balwinder and Ileana have worked together in their last film, ‘Pagalpanti’. The film is expected to go on floors next month and is slated to hit the theatres in 2021.

‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’

Abhishek Kapoor’s next will bring together the pairing of Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor. The film has been titled, ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’.

Ayushmann will be seen playing the role of a cross-functional athlete in the film. The first schedule of the movie is being shot in Chandigarh.

Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon starrer

After their successful stint in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi!’, Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon will be seen teaming up for Dinesh Vijan's untitled next. The film will be directed by Abhishek Jain.

The film will reportedly commence shooting on October 30, 2020, and the team has already jetted off to Chandigarh for the same. The movie will also star Aparshakti Khurrana, Paresh Rawal and Ratna Pathak Shah in key roles.
