From Kajol, Anil Kapoor to Jeetendra, B-town celebs attend Shabana Azmi's mother Shaukat Kaifi's prayer meet

Shabana Azmi's mother Shaukat Kaifi passed away at 93 on Friday evening due to age-related illness. Today, a prayer meet for Shaukat Kaifi was held in the city. B-town celebs arrived at the venue to pay their condolences to the family.
B-town stars like Tabu, Padmini Kolhapure, Gulshan Grover, Tisca Chopra, Aditi Rao Hydari, Saiyami Kher, Neena Gupta, Aamir Khan, Satish Kaushik, Ila Arun, Jeetendra, Rakesh Roshan, Ashutosh Gowariker, Anil Kapoor, Madhur Bhandarkar, Kajol, Tanishaa Mukerji and many others were spotted as they arrived for the prayer meet.









Kaifi's son-in-law, veteran writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar, confirmed the news of the death of the theatre and film actor. As soon as the news broke out, B-town celebs expressed their grief on her demise.
Her last film was Shaadi Ali's 'Saathiya'.
After Kaifi Azmi's demise in 2002, she wrote an autobiography, 'Kaifi and I' which has also been adapted to a play 'Kaifi aur Main'. It premiered in Mumbai in 2006 on the fourth death anniversary of Kaifi Azmi.
The play has been performed by Shabana Azmi and Akhtar.
