​The controversial theme

This year Met Gala's theme is based on the work of Karl Lagerfeld who worked at prominent fashion houses. Many of his accomplished works and sketches will also be at display. However, this theme faced backlash because Lagerfeld was a designer who was prejudiced and has also passed body-shaming statments. In 2009, he had said, "no one wants to see round women". Many people aren't liking the fact that this year's theme revolves around him, leaving behind many other iconic designers.

​Alia Bhatt's Met Gala debut

The fashion police in India is only looking forward to Alia Bhatt's debut at Met Gala. Not to mention, her fans are looking forward to seeing her at the red carpet and for Indians, Alia being at the gala is one of the major highlights of the event. The actress is already in New York. She had also dropped a picture with her cat and said, she's prepping for the MET. Alia is going to dressed in Prabal Gurung couture for the Met Gala.

Priyanka Chopra's earlier looks and appearances at the MET Gala have been largely spoken about and are still remembered. She has also walked the red carpet with Nick Jonas.
