From Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ to Salman Khan’s ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’: Bollywood films expected to do big business at the box-office

Bollywood didn't have a great run in the year 2019. However, 2020 started with a bang with Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol starrer ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’. The movie has already crossed Rs 200 crore and it is still going strong after three weeks of its release.

Well, this is just the beginning as there is a line-up of some very interesting and big starrer Bollywood movies this year that is sure to set the cash registers ringing at the box-office.

From Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ to Salman Khan’s ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ to Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Brahmastra’, here are Bollywood films that are expected to do big business at the box-office.

‘Sooryavanshi’

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is all set to expand his cop universe with his upcoming film, ‘Sooryavanshi’. After Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, the director has now roped in Akshay Kumar to be his next heroic cop. The film also stars Katrina Kaif as the female lead.

While the makers have created quite a buzz amongst the movie buffs, they are also all set to get Ajay (Singham) and Ranveer (Simmba) on board for the film. The two will be seen making a special cameo in the movie with Akshay Kumar and it is expected to be one of the most iconic moments of the Rohit Shetty’s films.

Given the fact that ‘Singhm’, ‘Singham Returns’ and ‘Simmba’ did quite well at the box-office huge expectations are surrounding ‘Sooryavanshi’ too.

‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’

After ‘Wanted’, Salman Khan reunited with Prabhudheva in the third instalment of his popular ‘Dabangg’ franchise. Now, he is all set to collaborate with the filmmaker once again in his next, ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’.

Salman Khan will also be reuniting with his ‘Bharat’ co-star Disha Patani in the movie. It will also star Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff in key roles. Like, ‘Wanted’, the movie is being touted to become a game-changer of sorts for Salman Khan.

‘Brahmastra’

Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy drama ‘Brahmastra’ has been in the news ever since the movie was announced. The movie will bring together Bollywood’s most loved couple, ‘Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor together on screen for the first time.

The movie will also features Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in key roles. The makes have also reportedly roped in Shah Rukh Khan for a special cameo in the film.

A whopping amount has been dedicated to the VFX of the movie which the makers reportedly claim will change the scene of VFX-laden films in India.

‘’83’

Movies based on sports, sports personalities and biopic have worked wonders at the box-office in the past in Bollywood. Keeping up with the trend, filmmaker Kabir Khan is all set with his upcoming sports biopic, ‘’83’. The movie tells the incredible story of cricket World Cup victory of India in 1983 under the abled captainship of Kapil Dev.

Ranveer Singh plays the character of Kapil Dev in the movie while his real-life wife Deepika Padukone will essay the role of Romi Dev. Deepika will also be co-producing the movie after her latest venture ‘Chhapaak’.

The movie also boasts of an ensemble star cast that include, Boman Irani, Dhairya Karwa, Adinath Kothare, Chirag Patil, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Sahil Khatter and Dinker Sharma.

‘Laxmmi Bomb’

Remaking of popular and hit South Indian films in Bollywood has not been new. However, the old charms still exist and it still works big time for the Bollywood filmmakers. The latest one to join the bandwagon is South director raghava Lawrence’s ‘Kanchana’.

The movie is being remade in Bollywood as, ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ and will star Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead. The first look of Akshay Kumar from the movie has left all his fans spellbound and they are eagerly awaiting the release of the movie.

‘Baaghi 3’

With the super success of Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Baaghi’ starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, the makers kick-started the franchise and it is now one of the most popular and awaited movie franchises in Bollywood.

The third part will bring together Tiger and Shraddha once again. The film will also reportedly feature Tiger’s ‘Baaghi 2’ co-star and rumoured ladylove Disha Patani. Being directed by Ahmed Khan, the film is expected to be high on action. It will also star Riteish Deshmukh in key role.

‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’

Ayushamann Khurrana is all set to do what he does best and his fans just cannot wait for it. Like all his films in past few years, his upcoming film, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ too has been making a lot of noise of late and for all the right reasons.

The movie is the sequel to Aanand L Rai’s ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ starring Ayushmann and Bhumi Pednekar. The second instalment stars Ayushmann and Jitesh Kumar in the lead role. It also stars the ‘Badhaai Ho’ jodi Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao in pivotal roles.

While the first part highlighted the issue of erectile dysfunction, the second part is a gay love story.
