Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan has been the biggest hit of the year, becoming the first Bollywood movie to have raked Rs 1000 crore at the box office. However, despite this, the movie hasn’t been able to convince the former Head of Research and Analysis Wing (
RAW) of India, Vikram Sood. Sood believes the film and other spy movies in general, are not an accurate depiction of a spy and he isn’t even interested in watching them.
In an interview, Sood mentioned that our makers don't have the heart to make spy films, they can definitely do better and make them a little more realistic.
He also added that firstly they are trying to make a James Bond kind of film which itself is not realistic, and then you have an ISI girl and a RAW man living happily ever after, something of this sort would never happen in real life.
However, he did admit to watching Ek Tha Tiger, but it left him in splits. He also stated that even Bajrangi Bhaijaan was an exaggerated film. However, he did recommend watching Steven Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies, as that is how real spy movies are made, it is about dealing with facts and living a lonely life all by yourself.
