Shahid Kapoor's 'Kabir Singh' which turned out to be one of the biggest films of the year was also the talk of the town due to his outgoing misogynist main character. The male chauvinist character essayed by Shahid on the silver screen was the most talked-about dispute which divided Twitterattis into two teams. While celebs like Sona Mohapatra took to social media to criticize the film and character even the audience came out in her support.

With back to back stellar performances on the celluloid, Kartik Aaryan's fan base is just growing with each day. The millennial actor, who recently entertained the audience with his recent release 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' which also starred Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar. The trailer of the film left everyone stunned when a monologue about marital rape was highlighted. The controversial dialogue which hurt the sentiments of the audience saw the uproar on social media which lead to the makers making changes in the dialogue.

After the nepotism, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar's film 'Saand Ki Aankh' gave highlighted the ageism debate when actress Neena Gupta took to social media to voice her opinion about letting such roles be played by women of their age. With netizens pouring in their support and baking Neena, the film which was based on the lives of sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar became the hot debate on social media revolving around ageism.

Ayushmann Khurrana starrer 'Bala' is touted as one of the most entertaining films of the year but the film was dragged into a controversy prior to its release due to its similarity with Sunny Singh's 'Ujda Chaman'. But 'Bala' grabbed a lot of attention when Bhumi Pednekar's skin tone in the film became a debate on social media.
With the makers of the film opting to paint Bhumi brown instead of casting people with actual dark skin, irked netizens, who took to social media criticize the look.

Two of Bollywood's most charismatic men Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's came together for a high octane action flick. The film went on to become a blockbuster but the film came under the scanner for a weak narrative and lacklustre climax which seemed to be inspired by Hollywood. Even the parkour sequence and the bike chase have been copied from popular films like 'Casino Royale' and 'Mission Impossible'. All these actions which are ceremoniously packaged and based on a lead character going rogue, the film lacked an original concept. But the one thing which the audience couldn't digest in 'War' was the climax where the real identity of Tiger's character is revealed.
