While next year, the Information & Broadcasting Ministry will showcase Satyajit Ray's films at

Cannes

, and has planned a special event, but for movie buffs, there are some treats available now itself.

As India is celebrating 100 years of Satyajit Ray, the I&B ministry has decided to show films of the master filmmaker on

the India Pavilion

website. The films, which have been selected to be screened on India Pavilion website, include 'Ganashatru', '

Ghare Baire

', '

Agantuk

', and the documentary 'The Music of Satyajit Ray'.

Prakash Javadekar had said, "These virtual inaugurations are the new normal and virtual spaces are the new places for real partnerships. The strength of Indian cinema lies in its rich content which is appreciated globally. I am confident that the two films representing India - 'Mai Ghat' (Marathi) and 'Hellaro' (Gujarati) - at Cannes will receive accolades."
He informed the attendees that the Film Facilitation Office would be the single window for all centre and state government permissions.
