Theatre artist and filmmaker Champak Banerjee today said he is going to start his next project soon under banner Champak Banerjee Productions.
Theatre artist and filmmaker Champak Banerjee today said he is going to start his next project soon under banner Champak Banerjee Productions. Once a young theatre activist from the city, Banerjee, 50, has acted in popular serials like Nukkad, Uddan, Life Line and Bharat Ek Khoj, and has recently started his production company in Mumbai. The actor-director told reporters here that he is in the city to discuss financial collaboration and partnerships for his forthcoming film and they are in the initial process to start it. Banerjee has also worked with noted filmmaker Shayam Benegal in film Antarnaad alongside veteran actors Shabana Azmi and Om Puri while in commercial film Sapno Ka Mandir, he worked with actors like Jeetendra, Jaya Prada, Kader Khan and Gulshan Grover. He has also received Dada Saheb Phalke Janmabhoomi Award- 2011 at Nashik International Film festival for his film Shrishti-Chakra which deals issue of global warming. The director said his one of his documentaries A Journey to Paradise has been screened at various international film festivals after it was first screened at Goa international Film festival in 2014.
