Filmistaan inspires creative producer Ashok Purang to turn director

Theatre director Ashok Purang, who is the creative producer of recently-released Filmistaan, is happy that the film has garnered critical acclaim.

He says, “A good idea, if executed well, will always find an audience. So, when debutant director Nitin Kakkar narrated the story, I immediately decided to be a part of it.”

Encouraged by the response, he has already started working on his next bunch of films.

“I have already identified a few directors with great talent and some amazing scripts. I am also developing a film for me to direct. My aim is to make films high on content and low on budget,” Ashok says.
