Rajkumar Hirani, Rituparno Ghosh and Abhijat Joshi will give classes to Australians at the upcoming Melbourne Film Festival. Hirani and Joshi will give lessons on the secrets behind successful scriptwriting, with special focus on the comedy genre, owing to the success of 3 Idiots and Munnabhai. While Rituparno will give lessons on ‘realism in Indian cinema’ and ‘arthouse cinema as a parallel alternative to mainstream commercial Bollywood cinema’, in context of his films like
Chokher Bali.
Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee will also be present at the festival and will hold classes on the ‘role of costume and fabric design in creating a powerful narrative in films’, owing to his costume designing in films like
Black and
Guzaarish.
