Fauda
actor Tsahi Halevi, who’s currently on a week-long visit to India, says that it was his dream to visit the country. During a press conference organised by theIsrael
Embassy, the Israeli actor spoke about his upcoming project, which is a co-production between India and Israel, his Indian fans, and his plan to meet actors and producers in Mumbai.‘It has been a dream to come to India’
Talking about his visit, the actor said, “I am excited to finally arrive in India. In Israel, a lot of Israelis travel after their military training, and I travelled to South America but I always had this dream to visit India. I feel it is a great opportunity and I would like to thank Israel Embassy and Cultural Attaché for inviting me. Though it is a short visit, I am looking forward to getting to know India
‘Planning to meet actors and producers in Mumbai’
Tsahi hopes to collaborate with Indian creators, and is open to offers from Bollywood, too. He said, “I’m trying to meet as many people from the industry – actors and producers – just to see how we can work together. Hopefully, we will create something together sooner than later. There are not any specific offers yet, but maybe, when I will go to Mumbai, I will be surprised.” He revealed that he is working on an Indo-Israel co-production, but didn’t divulge any details.
Tsahi also visited the National School of Drama where a screening of his film Bethlehem was organised, followed by an interaction with students. Tsahi asked, “Since you are talking about Fauda, I assume it is a hit series in India?” When the audience agreed, the actor said, “We have been receiving a lot of great feedback on social media from Indian citizens. In Israel, what we are experiencing is a lot of local creations becoming international because of digital platforms that started producing content. It’s a great opportunity for everyone. We have discovered Indian TV shows and cinema in Israel. This is another example of how it is a global village.”
