The much-awaited trailer of
Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Animal' has been trending on the internet ever since its release. It has been receiving positive reviews from all sides.
Amidst this, a video of a clip from Akshay Kuma and Amitabh Bachchan's 2005 starrer 'Waqt: The Race Against Time' and 'Ek Rishta' is going viral on social media. It is called 'The wrong Animal trailer'. The video shows the similarities in the father-son relationship between Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor in the upcoming film to that between
Amitabh Bachchan and
Akshay Kumar in the movies from 2001 and 2006.
Watch the video here:A parody handle on Instagram, by the name of f.u.n._editzz, shared a video on Friday that juxtaposed the trailer of Animal to some rushes from Ek Rishtaa and Waqt. The text superimposed across the video read, “I think I downloaded the wrong Animal trailer.”
The movie rushes feature Akshay Kumar repeatedly uttering "papa," mirroring Ranbir's dialogue in the Animal trailer. In a similar vein, Akshay's character proposes to Amitabh that they exchange their father-son roles, a theme reminiscent of the opening scene in the Animal trailer where Ranbir suggests the same to Anil.
In a parallel to
Rashmika Mandanna's character in Animal,
Karisma Kapoor's character urges Akshay to make a choice between her and his father. Drawing a reminiscent storyline from Jaanwar, Akshay, like Ranbir, seeks retribution for his father by infiltrating the antagonist Mohnish Bahl's house. As the Animal song "Arjan Vailly" sets the tone, Akshay and his gang launch an assault on Mohnish's residence, brandishing swords, mirroring the intensity seen in Animal when Ranbir and his gang invade Bobby Deol's house.
As soon as the video started doing the rounds, comments started pouring in from all sides. While one user wrote, 'Time ke against race thi (emojis) akshay pahle hi aayega na', another one added, 'Akki did it first 'jaanwar' in 1999'.
