Rajpal Yadav's equation with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has sparked online buzz after a video of the actor went viral online. The video in question has Yadav speaking to reporters while praising Khan. The clip, although a throwback, has sparked speculation that the superstar may have helped Yadav get out of Tihar Jail, where he is currently locked up in an ongoing Rs 9 crore debt case.

In the widely shared clip, Rajpal is seen addressing the media and singing praise of Salman, saying, "Salman bhai bade bhai ki tarah hain, Salman bhai ke sath aaj baith ke andar se bahot khushi mehsoos hoti hai." He went on to add, "Sach me relieve mehsoos kar raha hoon."
What’s the truth?
Rajpal has not yet been released from jail in connection with the current debt case. On Thursday, the actor's manager, Bhaskar Upadhyay said in a statement that half the amount in the financial insolvency case of the actor has been paid off.

As reported by IANS, he explained the actor's complex case saying, “The money that was invested from the investment purpose has not been denied. Earlier, when there was talk of money, the company had refused to take money. Negotiations are underway on the 2012 agreement, in which three months have already been served. I can't say anything about who gave money to Rajpal Yadav, it is a family matter. I will personally go to the jail and tell him how it needs to be done. Out of the five crores so far, two and a half crores have been given, see what the court decides on Monday”.

Meanwhile, the viral video in question was from the actor's 2018 appearance. The timing of the clip prompted speculation that he may have been released from jail, following the financial aid he received from Bollywood singers and actors, including Salman Khan.

As per reports, Yadav surrendered on February 5, 2026, to the police after the Delhi High Court directed him to do so in connection with multiple cheque bounce cases. Yadav, had taken a loan to make his film 'Ata Pata Laapata' in 2010, and was reportedly unable to repay the loan.
