FA9LA rapper Flipperachi hints at another banger in Dhurandhar 2 after blowing up social media; ‘If Indians loved your song, you are successful’
The moment FA9LA kicked in during Akshaye Khanna’s chilling entry in Dhurandhar, it stopped being just background music and became part of the character’s identity. The track rapidly crossed over from theatres to timelines, fuelling reels, reactions and viral dance videos — and in the process introducing Indian audiences to Bahrain-based singer-producer Flipperachi, aka Hussam Aseem.
Dhurandhar has already crossed Rs 1200 crore at the global box office and continues to enjoy a strong theatrical run.
‘It’s crazy. I cannot keep up with people tagging me’
The sudden wave of attention has left the singer both thrilled and overwhelmed. Speaking to India Today, Flipperachi described the scale of the response. “To be honest, it’s crazy. My DMs are blowing up every single day. I cannot keep up with the people that are just tagging me for the song and enjoying and vibing with it. So it’s been a crazy, crazy time,” he said.‘There might be something’ in Dhurandhar 2
As FA9LA continues to dominate social media, Flipperachi also dropped a subtle hint about his future with the franchise. Asked whether he is part of Dhurandhar 2, expected to release next year, he stopped short of confirming but teased fans nonetheless. “I was going to keep it a surprise, but I guess there’s something. I wouldn’t want to tell you everything about it, but yeah, there might be something, yes,” he shared.‘Your song is booming in India? I was like, what?’
Interestingly, the singer revealed that he initially struggled to grasp the scale of the song’s popularity in India. “I remember when they first told me, your song is booming in India, I was like, what?” he said, admitting that the realisation hit only after seeing the song permanently linked to Akshaye Khanna’s villainous introduction.‘The decision was instant’
Recalling how the collaboration came together, Flipperachi explained that the makers were specifically searching for a sound that could elevate the antagonist’s entry. “They were looking for a song for Akshaye’s entrance, him as a villain. So when they heard the song, the strings in it, the dark strings, so they said the song was perfect for the entrance. The call came in, the decision was instant, and we just thought let’s go with it,” he said.‘If Indians loved your song, you are successful’
What truly cemented the song’s impact, according to Flipperachi, were the audience reactions pouring in from theatres. “Just vibing with it makes me really appreciate the power of interaction,” he said, before underlining why India’s response matters so much to him. “India, to be honest, is the main entertainment hub. So if Indians loved your song, believe me, you are successful.”Dhurandhar has already crossed Rs 1200 crore at the global box office and continues to enjoy a strong theatrical run.
