In the heart of Mumbai's Juhu neighborhood lies Jalsa, the cherished abode of Bollywood's iconic star Amitabh Bachchan, and his esteemed family. For over two decades, Jalsa has been the home to the three generations of Bachchans. Within Jalsa's sprawling expanse reside Amitabh Bachchan and his wife, veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, alongside their son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan. ‘Jalsa’ - a gift

Everyone knows about the grandeur that Jalsa encompasses on every wall, but only a few are aware of the fact that it was originally gifted to Amitabh Bachchan by producer Ramesh Sippy. Amitabh’s work in 1982 ‘Satte Pe Satta’ left such a mark on Sippy’s heart that he presented him with Jalsa that spans an impressive 10,125 square feet.

Over the years, the Bachchans have shared glimpses of their lives within its walls, offering fans a rare peek into their world. With an estimated value ranging from Rs 100 to 120 crore, Jalsa epitomizes luxury and majesty.

Stepping through the grand dark wooden doors of Jalsa, visitors are greeted by a lush driveway flanked by palm trees, leading to the majestic entrance. Every Sunday, the mansion's gates open to welcome admirers, a testament to the Bachchans' enduring connection with their fans.

Inside, Jalsa exudes an air of sophistication, blending traditional elements with contemporary aesthetics. Glossy marble flooring, Turkish carpets, and floor-to-ceiling windows create an ambiance of timeless elegance, while carefully curated artwork and decor reflect the family's refined taste.

Bachchan's appreciation for art is evident throughout Jalsa, with rare pieces by celebrated artists adorning its walls. Among their prized possessions is a bull painting by the late Manjit Bawa, valued at Rs 4 crore, alongside an impressive collection of silver sculptures.

Last but not least, the family's devotion to spirituality is reflected in the temple within Jalsa, where deities carved from white marble stone and a black Shivling reside. Amitabh Bachchan often shares glimpses of his religious rituals within the temple, offering a window into the spiritual dimension of their lives.

Jaya Bachchan recently revealed her protective instincts towards her children, actor Abhishek Bachchan and entrepreneur Shweta Bachchan, during the latest episode of her granddaughter's podcast 'What The Hell Navya Season 2'. The veteran actor, along with her husband Amitabh Bachchan, admitted to being deeply invested in safeguarding their children, highlighting their commitment to family and parenthood.

Jaya said that she and her husband Amitabh Bachchan were more protective of their children, Abhishek and Shweta because that's how they were raised and what they knew. She expressed a belief that Shweta, having been raised differently, would approach parenting with a different perspective, suggesting a generational shift in parenting styles.
