At the beginning of the New Year, when
Yami Gautam was busy shooting for her films, little did she know that she would have to take a break due to the second wave of COVID. As 2021 began looking a bit positive, the actress was looking forward to as many as eight films. Some, she shot for, a few she has been shooting for and a couple of them ready for a release.
However, owing to the current scenario, the actress hit a pause button.
Though she has a list of projects in her kitty today, Yami is stern on the fact that it is only quality that she gets attracted to instead of quantity. The Badlapur actress who says she’s extremely careful with the choices she makes about the projects also adds, “The idea is not just to sign a number of films. I waited for this time where I did films that I believed in.” She further goes on to name a few movies she’s proud to be a part of, “Out of the many films I did, I am glad to be a part of projects like Kaabil and Baala. Of course Vicky Donor is also one of them. So you see, for me, it was not just about the number of films, but the quality of scripts too.”
The Sanjay Gupta directorial, Kaabil, starred Hrithik Roshan opposite Yami. Bala starred Yami along with Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar. The 2019 release was helmed by the director of Stree, Amar Kaushik. And Vicky Donor marked Yami’s Bollywood debut in 2012 opposite Ayushmann.
