Rohit Nayyar, whose last directorial was the Samir Aftab and Hrishitaa Bhatt-starrer 'Shadow' in 2009, has come on board to direct
Salman Khan’s next production. The romcom revolves around a wedding and
Nushrat Bharucha is in talks for the lead, but the cast is yet to be finalised. Director-writer Raaj Shaandilyaa has been roped in to pen the dialogue. Rohit has also written the story.
According to a source, the family entertainer will mark a comeback for Rohit who has directed films like the 2004 Aftab Shivdasani-Gracy Singh film 'Muskaan' and 'Aasma: The Sky Is The limit' with Hrishitaa, Nauheed Cyrusi and Seema Biswas five years later.
He was an assistant director on Salman’s musical romance with
Preity Zinta and
Rani Mukerji, 'Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega', in 2000 and the duo has been in touch since. “Work on the film will begin once Salman wraps up 'Dabbang 3'. It will be shot completely on the outskirts of Delhi in a start-to-finish schedule that will begin in September in a small-town setting,” informed the source.
When contacted, Rohit admitted he is in talks but refused to divulge any details.
Salman’s last production was the Nitin Kakkar directorial 'Notebook' in March. It introduced Zaheer Iqbal and
Mohnish Bahl’s daughter, Pranutan.
