Speaking about his film director Varma said, “I didn’t make the film about

Islamophobia

. It is about identity but told through the story of two Muslim women. It is about whether you put on an act for people or exercise your culture in front of everyone."

Sharing her idea behind the film and its big premiere, writer-producer Riya said, "Every day you wake up and read another story of racial intolerance, cultural prejudice and stereotyping of a set of people. There's a tremendous resonance with the fact that finally this film is being released by The Times of India because it’s come out of what I read in the papers every day."
