After the success of
Shahid Kapoor's last release, '
Kabir Singh' which was a remake of Telugu hit drama '
Arjun Reddy', multiple producers started looking for the next such remake opportunity.
Soon,
Allu Aravind bagged rights of Nani starrer 'Jersey' and now the Hindi remake will star Shahid.
Now,
Allu Arjun starrer 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' which was released in the Pongal period has all the Bollywood big producers gunning for the rights.
The film scored huge at the box office in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
It was being reported that 'Kabir Singh' producer
Ashwin Varde had offered Rs 8 crore for the rights of Allu starrer film. But according to the latest update, his offer has been rejected!
A source close to the producers of 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' said, “the film has been produced by Allu Aravind and S. Radha Krishna, and incidentally Allu Aravind is already producing the remake of 'Jersey' in Hindi, where the original film was produced under S. Radha Krishna sister company, so both of them have decided to remake this current blockbuster film on their own and not sell it to anyone else".
Well, it seems south producers will be producing the remakes in Bollywood instead of selling the rights to others.
