Last night, we brought you an exclusive interview with
Janhvi Kapoor. The young actress spoke to us just before leaving for an overseas trip; she was flying out to the US to spend time with her
younger sister Khushi Kapoor
in the US and help her to zero down on an institute wherein she could enroll for a fresh course in acting. Papa Boney had accompanied her to the airport.
During the conversation, we asked Janhvi: As a single parent, does your father become paranoid if you're late or he's unable to reach you? Janhvi replied unhesitatingly, "No, in fact, he has become a very close friend. A very new equation has developed between him and me. Today, I can talk to him about everything."
Janhvi and Khushi, and of course even Arjun and Anshula, are very eagerly awaiting Luv Ranjan's upcoming Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer wherein their Papa plays Dimple Kapadia's husband and Ranbir's father. ETimes was the first to break that story. "We are very excited. We really wanted him to do the role. He was quite apprehensive when the offer came along. But Arjun, Anshula, Khushi and I drove him to do it," Janhvi admitted.
Did she go on the set to see Papa acting? "Well, I was busy with a long stint of '
Good Luck Jerry
' in Punjab,
toh time hi nahi mila. But I would have felt awkward to go to his shoot as I have always seen him giving instructions and not taking them. Let it all unfold on the big screen. You know what! It will be really cool to see him acting; I have often seen him emoting and feeling songs while he watches them on TV, he loves to do that with songs on a few music channels. I'm sure he'll do a good job."
Janhvi had no qualms in also telling us that she consults Daddy Dearest on every script. "Saari industry Papa ko phone karti hai unka opinion mangne ki liye. As I have access to him, why wouldn't I avail of it?" And what if she has liked a script immensely and after he hears it, he says no? "That hasn't happened till now. Besides, after offering his advice, he leaves the financial decision to me," she quipped.
