Hansal Mehta is one of those few filmmakers who is very vocal on social media. From voicing his thoughts to slamming trolls – the filmmaker actively makes his presence felt on
Twitter. Apart from connecting with fans and earning praise for his latest release ‘
Chhalaang
’, Hansal Mehta agrees that negativity exists on the platform. “It does and it is very unfortunate. If I say it doesn’t affect me at all, I would be lying,” shared the filmmaker.
Further, speaking about social media trolls and the toxicity on the platform, the ‘Aligarh’ filmmaker added, “It has given people the license to be rude and to be absolutely shameless. I just feel people can argue, there is room for civilized conversation and sometimes it brings out the worst in people which is what I don't like.”
Hansal Mehta recently reunited with one of his frequent collaborators
Rajkummar Rao for ‘Chhalaang’. While the romantic comedy has been well appreciated by fans, the filmmaker is already planning more projects with Rajkummar. “He is one of the best actors of his generation. There are a lot of things, in different stages of the production. Actually the
pandemic
has thrown people completely off balance. So I will be ready to speak about it as soon as I am ready to begin.”
