Evergreen Rekha joins Helen’s grand 87th birthday celebration; the diva greets paps with gentle namaste

Helen’s 87th birthday celebration lit up Mumbai as friends and family came together on November 21 to honour the legendary dancing diva. She arrived at the venue with a warm smile, greeting the paparazzi with a gentle namaste. Salim Khan was spotted at the celebration, and veteran actress Rekha also joined the joyous gathering.

The legendary icon looked elegant in a violet traditional dress as she stepped out of her car and posed for the paparazzi. Helen smiled, waved, and raised her hands to greet everyone, even thanking them for their birthday wishes. Shortly after her, Salim Khan also reached the venue.

Rekha joins the birthday celebration

Rekha, Helen’s close friend, also arrived for the party. She looked chic in a black jumpsuit paired with a blue jacket and her signature black sunglasses. Rekha happily posed for photos and even picked up a photographer’s camera to click a fun picture for them.

Helen’s journey in Bollywood

Helen’s entry into Bollywood began when actor Cuckoo introduced her to the industry. Her big breakthrough came in 1958 with the iconic song 'Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu' from 'Shakti Samanta’s Howrah Bridge'. She soon became one of the most popular dancers and vamp characters in films of the 1950s and 1960s.

During this time, she met Salim Khan, and their bond gradually turned into love, though they married much later. Interestingly, Helen was already married to Prem Narayan Arora for several years before divorcing him in 1974.
