Eric Roberts shares thoughts on talking about his famous family despite their wishes

Eric Roberts, known for his role in 'The Dark Knight,' shared on the 'Still Here Hollywood' podcast on July 8th that he is not supposed to discuss his famous family but sometimes does so anyway.
When host Steve Kmetko inquired about his sister, Julia Roberts, Eric indicated that one would have to ask her directly. He explained that he loved his sister but was unable to talk about her because she did not want him to.
Eric also mentioned that his daughter, Emma Roberts, had similarly advised him not to speak about her.Despite this, he admitted that he occasionally stumbled and did talk about them. He reiterated that he was not supposed to discuss either his sister or daughter, but sometimes did.
Although he had been advised to stay quiet, Eric, a proud father, could not help but express his admiration for Emma's impressive acting career. He shares Emma with his ex, Kelly Cunningham. He conveyed his love for his daughter's work and his disbelief at how great she had become, adding that he was extremely proud of her.
Eric highlighted his admiration for Emma's recent performances, especially since her role in 'Maybe I Do.' He expressed his pride by saying that she overwhelmed him with pride and happiness with each new accomplishment and that he was delighted to be her father.
When asked if he had contributed to Emma's success, Eric humbly stated that he had done 'absolutely nothing' except give her his name.
Eric's relationship with his family, including Julia, has been complicated over the years. In a 2018 Vanity Fair interview, he discussed how his past drug use led to a period of estrangement from Julia and their other sister, Lisa Roberts Gillan. He mentioned that he wouldn't characterize it as a falling out but acknowledged that he was difficult to be around due to his behavior. He said that everyone in his world needed a break from him sometimes, including Julia.
The siblings eventually reunited when Julia gave birth to twins Phinnaeus and Hazel on November 28, 2004. She shares the twins with her husband, Danny Moder. The couple also has another child, Henry Daniel, born on June 18, 2007.
