Two-time Oscar winner Emma Thompson was all praise for Bollywood star Shabana Azmi's performance in her latest film 'What's Love Got To Do With It?'.
The two actresses share screen space in the film directed by Shekhar Kapur. The romantic-comedy premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this week, but Emma could not attend the screening that received two standing ovations.
Although she couldn't join the cast, she made sure to catch a screening of the film and send her love to her co-star. In a heartfelt message, Emma wrote, "My darling, I just saw the film and you are simply wonderful in it and it is absolutely fantastic. I'm very proud to be a part of it, it's so funny and moving and it goes straight into the heart. I am sure you are going to adore it too. Very very happy. Sending you all my love."
Sharing the message on her social media handles, Shabana wrote, "Emma Thompson's message to me on Shekhar Kapur’s What Love Got To Do With It."
Director Shekhar also replied to the post saying, "It’s amazing Shabana … and thank Emma for the message."
Featuring an ensemble cast including Lily James, Shazad Latif, Emma and Shabana, the film written by Jemima Khan follows a filmmaker who decides to document her best friend’s journey toward arranged marriage.
The film will hit theatres in the UK on January 27 next year.
