In a recent interview with a news portal, Dulquer said that he was initially working in a construction company in Dubai for about two and a half years before he realised he wanted to pursue acting. I thought I would not make it. Nobody will want to watch me. Dulquer revealed that he used to be petrified of the stage and the camera. Not for anything, but this constant sort of self-doubt and fear of comparison to his father. So he thought he would steer completely off.

Elaborating further, Dulquer added that he realised that he is not the 9 to 5 kind of person and that it didn’t give him any joy. The actor added that he was inspired when he was making short films with his friends who were trying to get into the movies, and who had no film background. So one day he quit everything, flew to Bombay and joined an acting school. Then it just snowballed from there, the actor told Curly Tales.

R Balki’s ‘Chup: Revenge of the Artist’ also stars Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt and Shreya Dhanwanthary in lead roles.
