‘Drishyam 3’ to begin filming in December; Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Akshaye Khanna return for final chapter

Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam’ franchise continues to be one of Hindi cinema’s most loved crime thrillers, and the excitement around ‘Drishyam 3’ is higher than ever. With the Malayalam original already rolling, fans have been waiting for updates on the Hindi version, and the latest development confirms that the film is finally ready to begin production.

‘Drishyam 3’ (Hindi) to go on floors in December

According to Sacnilk, Abhishek Pathak’s directorial will begin shooting in the second week of December. The first schedule is set to take place at Yash Raj Films Studios in Mumbai, beginning December 12. Pre-production is reportedly in its final stages, and the makers are gearing up to roll cameras soon.





The film was earlier expected to start in October this year, but the schedule was pushed due to some reasons.

A franchise that keeps growing stronger

The Hindi adaptation of ‘Drishyam’ began in 2015, two years after Mohanlal’s Malayalam original became a blockbuster in 2013. Ajay Devgn’s version became a sleeper hit and slowly achieved cult status. Its sequel, released in 2022, turned into a massive theatrical success, mirroring the impact of the Malayalam instalment, which premiered on OTT in 2021.

What to expect in ‘Drishyam 3’

‘Drishyam 3’ is expected to bring the franchise to its final chapter, focusing on the psychological battle between Vijay Salgaonkar and the officers determined to uncover the truth. The story picks up right after the second film, leading to an intense final showdown.

Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, the sharp-minded class-9 fail theatre owner who has outsmarted the system twice before. Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, and Mrunal Jadhav will also reprise their roles as his family. Akshaye Khanna is expected to return as IG Tarun Ahlawat, while Tabu will once again be a central force in the narrative. ‘Drishyam 3’ is set to release in cinemas on October 2, 2026.
