Don't watch 'Alone'... alone, say Bipasha and Karan
Said to be one of the scariest films of recent times, Panorama Studios’ Alone revolves around a pair of conjoined twins.
Bipasha Basu, who has featured in a number of films in the horror genre, plays the ghost and the victim for the first time. While the film marks Karan Singh Grover’s Bollywood debut, it is director Bhushan Patel’s third venture in the genre – after 1920 Evil Returns and Ragini MMS 2.

Says Bipasha, “In real life, I’m frightened of ghosts, but I had a fantastic experience working on this film. Bhushan understood when I opted for bare minimalistic make-up for this film. Whatever you see for the character of the ghost, it’s all VFX.” Calling the film a passionate love story with elements of horror, she adds, “It’s also a love triangle between two living and one dead person.”
Karan says, “While Bhushan sir and I go back a long way, its unique story motivated me to take it up. Also, I’m lucky to have worked with two Bipashas in my debut.” Of course, the lead pair has a warning for its fans – ‘Don’t watch it alone.’
Producer Abhishek Pathak believes that horror is a genre that still needs to be explored properly in our cinema. He adds, “Plus, going by the chemistry between Bipasha and Karan, it seems as if the movie was tailor-made for them.”
Alone, produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Pradeep Agarwal and Prashant Sharma, releases today.
