Filmmaker Vipul Shah’s forthcoming attraction has quite a quirky plot. Says the filmmaker, “Honestly, I made this film to tell all those married men out there not to take their wives for granted. You know men never think about it, but if a wife ever leaves home (like Shefali does in my film) and meets an attractive stranger, then anything happen.’’Is KLJ about infidelity? On the contrary, the film tells you that there are going to be opportunities for everyone to slip.
However, if you come back and correct your life, you prove to be much stronger. It talks about the middle class morality that is prevalent in our society.
Did you make this movie to indulge your wife?I would not do something like that. Not because I cannot afford it, but because of my honesty to the craft. I’m not one of those filmmakers who indulges family and friends.
So how did the film happen?Director Barnali Ray Shukla and Shefali were looking for a producer. And that’s how I came on.
Why Rahul?Rahul is a versatile actor, he and Shefali share a terrific screen chemistry. Kucch Luv Jaisaa wouldn’t be possible without him. He is superb in the film.
Now do you plan to make small films alongside your biggies? If KLJ works, we want to do a sequel. It makes sense to do so as small films sometimes net big collections. This is a trend that has gathered momentum. Several small films have ended up being hits.
