Nimrat Kaur, known for her roles in The 'Lunchbox', 'Airlift', and 'Dasvi', is making headlines not just for her work but also for rumors about her personal life these days.

Coming from a military background, Nimrat has earned praise for her acting and has also appeared in international shows like Homeland. Despite the buzz, she remains focused on her career and continues to impress with her talent.

Born in a Sikh family in Pilani, Rajasthan, Nimrat faced a tragic loss when her father, Major Bhupinder Singh, passed away in her early teens, after being killed by Kashmiri militants. She has spoken about how his demise shaped her life and resilience in an old interview with Times of India.

After starting with theater and commercials, Nimrat gained recognition for her role in The Lunchbox (2013), followed by Airlift (2016) and Dasvi (2022).

In January 1994, while her family was visiting him in Kashmir, he was kidnapped by a militant group. The group made ridiculous demands, but Major Singh refused to comply.

Kaur began her journey in showbiz in the early 2000s. In 2004, she appeared in two music videos: Tera Mera Pyar by Kumar Sanu and Yeh Kya Hua by Shreya Ghoshal. These early projects marked her first steps into the entertainment industry.

Nimrat Kaur made her Bollywood debut with Vasan Bala's Peddlers in 2012, a film backed by Anurag Kashyap and co-starring Gulshan Devaiah and the late Nishikant Kamat.

She gained widespread recognition in 2013 with Ritesh Batra's The Lunchbox, where she played the lead opposite the late Irrfan Khan, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

In 2016, she starred in Airlift with Akshay Kumar, portraying the dramatic evacuation of Indians during the Iraq-Kuwait war.

In 2022, Nimrat appeared in Dasvi as Bimla Devi Chaudhary, opposite Abhishek Bachchan. She will next be seen alongside Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming film Section 84.
