DJ R3HAB makes his debut in India with QARAN

Dutch artiste, DJ R3HAB, is known for songs like

Lullaby

(with DJ Mike Williams) and Flames (with Zayn Malik and Jungleboi). Now, the DJ has stepped into the music scene in India with a Hindi pop song collaboration with composer-producer-singer

QARAN

. The latter, who is known for tracks like Tareefan (from Veere Di Wedding) and the Hindi pop song Haaye Oye (with singer Ash King), approached

R3HAB

to come on board for Ki Kehna, which was launched in December 2019 and has struck a chord with the audience. Soon after it was launched, the song made a direct entry into the Spotify Global X playlist of international and multicultural crossover tracks, which has a large number of listeners.
R3HAB, who was ranked at number 14th on the list of the top 100 DJs by an international music magazine, has previously worked with some of the biggest names in the West including Icona Pop, Sofia Carson, Afro Jack and Calvin Harris. While many international artistes choose the

Bollywood

route to make their debut in India, R3HAB opted for a non-film, pop song. Talking about the collaboration, QARAN says, “Ki Kehna is a fresh and bouncy club number. DJ R3HAB has brought something very special to the table with this track. Singing this one was a lot of fun, too, as I got to experiment with a unique sound.”
Directed by Diego Andrade, the Sony Music song is composed and sung by QARAN while the production and arrangement are done by R3HAB. The lyrics are penned by Siddhant Kaushal. About his first Indian project, R3HAB says, “Technology has made it easier to collaborate with artistes across continents. Ki Kehna is a great example of East meets West. QARAN has composed an amazing melody, and when I heard it for the first time, I knew that I wanted to be a part of this project and make it a great party number. I feel it is a perfect addition to everyone’s party playlist.”
