In times of the pandemic, people are taking the phase to slow down and introspect. Divyenndu too looks back at the lessons he learnt from his colleagues in the industry. The actor who made his Bollywood debut with

Aaja Nachle

in the year 2007, went on to do interesting roles in movies like Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011),

Chashme Baddoor

(2013), Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017), Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018) among others.

Talking about working with a director like David Dhawan, who he teamed up with for Chashme Baddoor, he says, “After finishing my studies at a film school and then doing some theatre working with David Dhawan was quite a different experience as the kind of films he makes, it works very differently. I found it fascinating. When you work with someone like David sir, you understand there is a method to madness. He truly understands his language of cinema. He is very consciously making what he is making.”

Divyenndu got an opportunity to work with Akshay Kumar in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Speaking about the lessons he learnt with Akshay, Divyenndu adds, “Working with someone senior like Akshay sir, the first thing I learnt was discipline. I got to learn the importance of always being on time. It is important to like your work, but also to an extent as you have life after that. It is only those 8 hours for him that he would be busy on a set and then he gets busy with his life.”

In an earlier interaction, he also opened up about his Chashme Baddoor co-star Rishi Kapoor saying, “He liked my acting skills and we would discuss about our methods on acting.”
