Divya Khosla Kumar breaks down at the trailer launch of Yaariyan 2

Actor Divya Khosla Kumar got emotional while launching the trailer of her upcoming movie Yaariyan 2. At the trailer launch, Divya was asked about her emotions, and she said, “I do feel very emotional today, it’s been a journey of one and a half years. It’s been a long journey. This film is extremely important for me, because the role is based on me, the real me.”


Furthermore, she also revealed how the movie’s director cast her in the movie and wrote the character based on her. “Radhika and Vinay selected me in one of the auditions when I used to audition in Delhi. Tab main bohot choti thi. I was 14 years old for a Falguni Pathak video. My mother always told me they present me the best. She came on the sets, saw me and told me nobody has styled me like this ever. She truly believes that they present me the best,” she added.


Divya had directed the first installment of Yaariyan in 2014. When asked why she never thought of making a sequel in the last nine years, she replied, “Bohot baar socha! But script nahi mili which will do justice. Then Vinay and Radhika came up with this script which I found very unique. Cousins are our first friends.”


Yaariyan 2’s trailer introduces the audience to Divya's character, Ladli, a dreamer who eventually gets married. Furthermore, it also shows us Meezan Jafri’s daring character, Shikhar, Pearl V Puri's devoted character, Bajju and Yash Dasgupta’s Abhay. The movie releases on October 20.
