He thought that he was supposed to do all the six songs in the film. He tried arguing with the producers and the director, but they refused to relent.
Anu now regrets not having signed a contract with the producers. He says, I assumed that I would be the sole music director for the film and was really surprised when a couple of other guys were roped in. Apoorva is a friend, I have worked with him in Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost and didnt expect this from him. From now on, I will not do a film without signing an exclusive contract.
When contacted, Lakhia refused to comment on Anus displeasure. I have nothing to say about this. It would be better if you speak to Shabbir Boxwalla, he said. Boxwalla said, If Anu is upset, I cant do much about it. And yes, we did add Mika, Sameer and Chintaram after Anu gave us two songs. But why bring in others when Anu was already on board? Boxwalla replied, Apoorva bought the rights of a Bob Sinclair song and wanted to do a Hindi version of that. Apoorva wasnt too happy with Anus rendition. So we had to get the others on board. Apoorva got along well with the trio, so the remaining four songs were done by them and not Anu.
