About two years ago the world lost the legendary Dilip Kumar and now we have lost another link to the thespian. His sister Saeeda who was married to Iqbal Khan passed away on September 24. Iqbal Khan was son of famous producer Mehboob Khan, known for films like Mother India and Andaz. Iqbal Khan was a trustee of the Mehboob Studios at Bandra, which was founded by his father in 1954.
A source close to the family reveals that Saeeda passed away after a prolonged illness. A close relative also informed us that she had not been keeping well for some time. The family member also added that Saeeda was a very compassionate soul. An old report can be found online where she and brother in law Shaukat Khan can be spotted handing over a cheque of Rs 10 lakhs back in 2014 to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees for the welfare of workers at Mehboob Studio. The event was attended by the federation's trustees and producer Sajid Nadiadwala.
Saeeda was looked after by daughter Ilham and son Saqib, after the passing away of her husband Iqbal back in 2018. Saqib is a producer, while Ilham is a writer.
A condolence meeting for her will be held on September 26 at Mehboob studio. Saira Banu has still not commented on Saeeda's demise.
