During an interview with Film Companion, cinematographer Anil Mehta shared how Salman Khan's spontaneity sparked an iconic moment in the song 'Tadap Tadap Ke' from the film. Recalling the filming experience in a scorching desert, Anil noted Salman's willingness to fully immerse himself in the scene, including lying down in the hot sand and engaging in spontaneous actions.



Anil expressed how Salman's spontaneity influenced him and established the mood of the song. He described taking the camera off the tripod to capture the moment alongside Salman, drawing inspiration from his actions. Despite filming norms prohibiting it, Anil included shots of the sun, driven by the energy of the scene and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's mastery in creating drama.




Anil Mehta's outstanding cinematography in 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' earned him the prestigious National Film Award. Subsequently, he made significant contributions to several iconic films, including 'Lagaan,' 'Veer Zaara,' 'Kal Ho Naa Ho,' 'Rockstar,' and 'Highway.'
