Did you know Kareena Kapoor Khan turned down ‘Fashion’, ‘Chennai Express’, and ‘Ram Leela’?

Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is currently basking in the success of ‘The Buckingham Murders’ is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actors in Indian cinema today. It is not a wonder that the actress gets a wide variety of roles to choose from, and there are hundreds of veterans as well as talented contemporary directors wishing to work with her. But did you know that Kareena Kapoor Khan has turned down several prominent roles that later became iconic in Indian cinema. And some of them include Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Fashion’, Deepika Padukone’s ‘Chennai Express’ and Ram Leela’ among others.

According to a report by Film Companion, Kareena Kapoor Khan was initially offered the iconic film ‘Fashion’. While there is no doubt that Poo would have effortlessly nailed the role of an aspiring model, the project didn’t materialise. Later Madhur Bhandarkar approached Priyanka Chopra, and the rest is, well, history!

If reports are to be believed, the makers of Deepika Padukone’s blockbuster films ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ too had approached Bebo during the initial pre-production phase of the films. However, for unknown reasons, Kareena reportedly turned down Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Chennai Express’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’.


Kareena Kapoor has also reportedly rejected ‘Queen’, which became a breakthrough film for Kangana Ranaut. These decisions, however, have not diminished Kareena Kapoor Khan's impressive career, showcasing her discerning choice of roles and the lasting impact of those she did choose.
