Even though Sridevi is no longer with us, the phenomenal actor continues to live on in our hearts. After working for years in the industry, the actress took a long break. And after 15 long years, she made a comeback with Gauri Shinde's 'English Vinglish'.
In an old interview, Sridevi shared that her husband Boney Kapoor, and daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor had read the script before she signed it. She explained that they like the same kind of cinema, and all of them also love it.
Elaborating further, the actress revealed that her daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor were hurt after watching the movie. During the interview, Sridevi shared that her younger daughter Khushi didn’t like the way the daughter of Sridevi’s character in the film was mean and disrespectful to her mother.
While talking to Shekhar Gupta on his show, Sridevi had said that she almost felt like a newcomer. According to her, you feel excited and unsure about yourself. You are insecure, and you are thrilled. So many feelings put together.
'English Vinglish' narrates the story of a quiet, sweet-tempered housewife Shashi Godbole, who endures small slights from her well-educated husband and daughter every day because of her inability to speak and understand English. Her attempt to learn the language helps her rediscover herself and reassert her value.
The movie also features Adil Hussain, Sumeet Vyas, Priya Anand, Sulabha Deshpande and French actor Mehdi Nebbou.
