Ameesha Patel is currently in the news after the Moradabad court issued a non-bailable warrant against her in connection with an event dispute case, which began in the year 2017. The 'Border 2' actress has been accused of fraud for not refunding the amount she took for her appearance at a wedding event. Soon, the actress clarified on social media that the dispute has been settled already and her lawyers will now look into it.
Ameehsa Patel sued her father for financial fraud
However, this is not the first time she is rocking headlines for legal issues. Back in 2004, Ameesha Patel had sued her father, Amit Patel.
While they used to share a father-daughter bond, things changed after 2004. Her father was the person managing her finances at that time. According to the Moneycontrol report, Ameesha Patel accused her father of mishandling her money. The actress went on to sue him for mismanaging her assets and funds worth Rs 12 crore. The duo was reportedly involved in a legal battle over this.

The actress had said in an old interview with the Hindustan Times that she is not embarrassed by the step she took against her father years ago. She expressed that not even her parents had the authority to take away her earned money. Ameesha had made another revelation that her parents duped Grandmother as well, and hence she supported her in the case.
Ameehsa Patel's statement in the Moradabad case
Ameesha Patel took to her Instagram Story and wrote, "Media reports suggest about certain proceedings at Moradabad by one Pawan Verma. I wish to inform one and all that this is a v v old matter, which was years back, in which the said Pawan Verma had signed a settlement deed and received the entire agreed amount. Despite this, it seems he has lodged proceedings making false allegations."
The actress stated that her legal team will look into it and take action against the person. The post further read, "My lawyers are initiating appropriate criminal proceedings of cheating against this person to expose his lies, while I prefer to focus on my work and ignore people who choose to make a public spectacle for gaining attention on false pretexts."

As per the reports, the actress was supposed to perform at a wedding on November 16, 2017; however, she didn't arrive for the event. The actress was paid Rs 14.50 lakh for her performance. The reports stated that the actress had refunded Rs 10 lakh due to non-appearance. A cheque of Rs 4.5 lakh was bounced; as a result, the organizer named Pawan Verma took legal action.
