Abhishek Bachchan's lifelong dream is going to become true. The actor can't wait to watch his father's iconic film, 'Sholay', in theaters. The movie has completed 50 years since its release this year, and the makers are set to release the uncut version on the big screens. The restored 4K version of the 1975 classic has been titled 'Sholay—The Final Cut'. Let's learn more about it.
Reportedly, the original climax of the movie was removed from the film, as the makers received such orders from the Central Board of Film Certification. The CBFC asked to drop the scene for its violent content since the movie was released during the Emergency era.
The original scene will showcase Sanjeev Kumar's Thakur killing Amjad Khan's Gabbar Singh with his spiked shoes.
The uncut version was showcased at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.

Abhishek Bachchan took to his social media to share his excitement about 'Sholay: The Final Cut'. Sharing a poster of the film and calling it a lifelong dream, the actor wrote, "The greatest story never told! Can’t wait to witness Sholay in all its glory on the big screen. For those unaware, 'The Final Cut' version of the film will feature the original climax and two deleted scenes.
